Equifax Hacked!

It’s almost a surprise that something this big hasn’t happened before.

We’ve seen major retailers and credit card companies hit by hackers, but this is on an entirely new level of security breach.  Hackers have stolen data from Equifax, a major credit reporting service.

Equifax reports that names, social security numbers, birthdates, and address of more than 143 million people have been compromised. Some customers credit card numbers have also been stolen.  You can head over to Equifax’s website to see if your information has been compromised.  Equifax is also offering free identity theft protection for all U.S. consumers.

It’s times like these when we can’t stress the importance of network security enough.  No matter what business you run – if you store any type of customer’s data then you should have security measures in place to prevent an attack.  Something like this could completely ruin a company.  Equifax is going to take a major hit here, and it will be interesting to see if they can rebound.

A customer’s trust is gone once something like this happens.  No one wants to hear the news that their personal information is now in the hands of a criminal.  You need to make sure that you are doing everything you can to protect you and your customer’s personal information.

We are experts in this field and have many different network security solutions.  This isn’t something you should wait around and think about! A security breach can happen at any time.  We offer free business consultations, so what do you have to lose?

While you’re thinking about network security you should also consider a backup plan.  In the case of a disaster you can’t afford to have your computers down for a few days or weeks.  This is why we started this business! We love and understand all of this and want to keep your business in business.  Give us a call and see how we can help.
